I wanted to thank the designer of your leak detector for saving my motor yacht. It’s an application you may not have anticipated, but it proved invaluable yesterday.

I have a 35′ boat that I keep in San Francisco bay and bought two of your leak detectors years ago to keep under my engines as a cheap back up to my more expensive high water alarms. I stuck them in there not knowing if they would even hold up in the harsh environment, but thought it couldn’t hurt.

Yesterday a boat neighbor heard a faint rhythmic beeping coming from my boat and called the harbor master. I got the call and couldn’t think of anything that would make that type of sound, but went to investigate. I had completely forgotten about these little guys, but they were trying to tell me that my boat was slowly sinking.

I had two major pumps and float switches fail due to a poor design which left my boat completely at the mercy of the water seeping in through a leaky seal. If not for your alarm, I am not sure I would have gotten to it in time.
