Zircon Retools Packaging and Merchandising.
CAMPBELL, Calif., April 25, 2006 — Retailers and consumers alike will benefit from Zircon's complete redesign of its product packaging and merchandising displays. The packaging change will help consumers choose the perfect tool and value-added instructional materials will help optimize its use. New point-of-purchase (POP) displays will help retailers increase sales and enhance the tool-shopping experience for their customers.
Retail customers will see the difference as soon as they see the new, eye-catching
"try-me" display. Zircon® tools will be tethered to each POP display, allowing
customers to actually handle the tools and explore features and functionality
before buying. This new experience in tool shopping is expected to help customers
confidently choose the right tools for them and, thus, enhance sales for retailers.
Uncluttered simplicity is the theme of the new packaging. The package front displays the Zircon® brand, elemental product information, and intuitive icons that make choosing the right Zircon® tool as easy as looking at a picture. A series of eight icons with brief descriptors have been developed to do the job. The back of the package includes the same icons with expanded descriptions, along with photos of some typical applications.
New, added-value instructional materials have also been developed for Zircon's complete line of wall scanners. Designed to give consumers the information they need to optimize the value of their new tool and check out Zircon's other wall scanners, the materials include the following information on each tool:
- A tutorial that demonstrates proper usage;
- A guide that highlights some typical applications;
- Troubleshooting information to answer typical questions and resolve common mistakes;
- Solutions for handling unusual situations; and
- Tips and tricks from the professionals.
Higher-end wall scanners, priced at $30 or more, include this information on
a DVD. Scanners with a lower price point, including all edge-finding StudSensor™
products, will utilize a Z-Card format. Slightly smaller than a credit card,
a Z-Card unfolds to a full-color, 9" x 12", easy-to-read printed piece.
