MetalliScanner® m40 is also the only metal detector that has both wide-field and pinpoint scanning capabilities. Its patent-pending design includes a translucent blue metal-detecting coil, along with two scanning positions, each with a progressive LED display, to facilitate both wide-field and pinpoint scanning. For wide-field scanning, the blue coil is held with full contact against the surface that is being scanned. For pinpoint scanning, used to detect the exact location of small objects such as nails and screws, the tip of the coil is held against the surface.
As the tool approaches a metal object, red LEDs progressively light from the bottom up. As the LEDs illuminate progressively to the top, it alerts the user that the tool is nearing a metal object. The top green light, blue coil, and audio tone will come on when the target is reached.
