The Handyman Club of America and Handy Magazine give the StudSensor™ EDGE their coveted Seal of Approval.

CAMPBELL, Calif., January 20, 2010 — The Handyman Club of America, and their official publication, Handy Magazine, have awarded Zircon’s StudSensor™ EDGE their seal of approval after a round of extensive member testing.

Handy Magazine, the official publication of the 750,000-member Handyman Club of America, contains ideas and guides for a wide variety of home improvement, woodworking, and other workshop projects. One of the main benefits of club membership is their tool testing project, where new tools are sent out to members to assess. The results are then published in the magazine and on the member’s web site, providing all other members with an unbiased look at new products.

To test the StudSensor™ EDGE, production tools were sent out to 500 Handyman Club members, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The overall rating (for quality, value, functionality, and other factors) was 8.8 out of 10, 97% of the respondents said they would recommend the EDGE, and 98% said it was a good value for the price.

One reviewer said “The accuracy was great. The lighted pointer makes it easy to mark the stud”. “As a long-time Zircon Studsensor user, I find the Edge Model more ergonomic, making it easier to hold and mark edges of studs. I can’t find anything negative to say about it” said another.

The results were published in the December/January issue of Handy Magazine, and on the Handyman Club of America’s web site at www.HandymanClub.com.

The Handyman Club of America also tested the more advanced StudSensor™ e50, and the preliminary results seem to be even more positive. Zircon’s CEO, John Stauss, is looking forward to revealing the verdict on the e50.

“Zircon fully understands that we’re in the tool business, and that tools have to work – for all users, day in and day out, and under all operating conditions. We take no shortcuts towards that goal, so it’s gratifying to see our products recognized and appreciated by the most skilled and demanding users.”
Zircon will release the results of the second test when they become public and official.
