CAMPBELL, Calif., September 1, 2005 —Zircon Corporation introduces StudSensor™ i65 OneStep® and StudSensor™ i60 OneStep®, the world’s first intelligent stud finders. Each is equipped with Zircon’s patent-pending CenterVision® technology that finds the center of studs with just one pass, as well as other OneStep® features, exclusive to Zircon.
There hasn’t been a technological advancement in stud finding this revolutionary since Zircon invented the original electronic stud finder in 1980. Until now, users had to find each stud edge and then figure out the middle for themselves. With CenterVision® technology, StudSensor™ OneStep® tools pinpoint the precise center of the stud in one quick and easy step.
StudSensor™ i65 OneStep®
In addition to CenterVision® technology, this tool includes more OneStep® features:
- Auto Recalibration – Most scanners won’t work properly if scanning begins near or directly over a stud. Auto Recalibration eliminates this problem by sensing the wall environment up to ten times per second and recalibrating the tool automatically to ensure accuracy.
- Auto Depth Sensing – automatically scans at varying depths to find wood or metal studs. A signal strength indicator helps distinguish between deep and shallow targets.
StudSensor™ i65 features an LCD display that indicates both the edges and center of studs, while the SpotLite® Pointing System and audio signal alert users when the exact center is found. Another Zircon exclusive, the WireWarning® alert, is a critical warning feature that continuously detects unshielded hot AC to help avoid nailing into hot electrical wires, a costly and potentially dangerous mistake. It is backed by non-marring pads to protect even the most delicate wall finishes.
StudSensor™ i60 OneStep®
StudSensor™ i60 OneStep® has many of the same features as the i65 including CenterVision® technology, Auto Recalibration, Auto Depth Sensing, AC WireWarning®, SpotLite® Pointing System and non-marring, protective pads.
Instead of an LCD screen, the StudSensor™ i60 features a nine-light LED display to indicate stud edges and center, deep targets and WireWarning® alert. StudSensor™ i60 also includes something extra – an integrated, erasable marker that marks the spot for anchoring without removing the tool from the wall.
“Whatever the project – from hanging pictures and shelves to anchoring heavy objects for stability and safety – attaching to the center of a stud or joist is the most critical step,” stated Zircon President and CEO Horst Sandfort. “Zircon’s StudSensor™ OneStep® tools get the job done One Step® Simple! OneStep® Fast! They’re the newest must-have for every toolbox.”
Both the StudSensor™ i60 and i65 retail for $29.95. They are available at leading mass merchandisers, home centers, hardware stores and professional outlets nationwide. As with all Zircon® tools, they come with a limited one-year warranty. To locate a store, call 1-800-245-9265.
