Today I’m going to help you decide what kind of stud center you need. Zircon offers a wide range of stud centers all with different combinations of features.
So, what kind of features do you need? It depends on what you want to use the tool for and what type of walls will you be scanning.
If you’re not sure whether you’re scanning through thick walls, textured walls, firewalls or floors and ceilings, you’ll want a tool with deep scan or high sensitivity mode.
If you might be scanning through tile or lath and plaster walls, you’ll want a tool with a metal scanning mode.
Do you want to find studs or metal and wires? If you think you might need to find metal pipes or live wires in the future it’s best to get a tool that can do that now, rather than having to go back and buy another one.
